Annual Alumni Meet and Silver Jubilee Celebration on 22nd December 2025 
The inspiring Guest Lecture by Dr. Rohit Arora, an alumnus of Batch-2014 
The department had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Rohit Arora, an accomplished Operations Research Scientist and proud alumnus of the Batch-2014, for an inspiring guest lecture on 14th August 2025. Currently based in Bangalore, Dr. Arora holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia (UBC), British Columbia, and has made significant contributions in the field of operations research.
Alumni Lecture by Mr. Vipul Sharma, a Distinguished Alumnus from B.Tech (Batch-2009) 
The department had the privilege of hosting an insightful alumni lecture delivered by Mr. Vipul Sharma, a distinguished alumnus from the B.Tech (Batch-2009) on 13th August 2025. Currently working in the field of supply chain management, Mr. Sharma engaged with the 3rd and final year B.Tech students, sharing valuable industry knowledge and personal experiences.
NITJ Organized an Interactive Session with IAS Alumni 
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar organized a successful interactive session with IAS alumni on August 7 at the IT Block. Mr. Amit Kumar Dixit (UPSC CSE 2024), a Civil Engineering graduate, and Ms. Sadaf Malik (UPSC CSE 2024), a Chemical Engineering graduate, participated in the session. Both distinguished alumni enthusiastically shared their experiences and fond memories of their time at the institute with the students. “Discipline, consistency, and clarity of purpose are key,” said Mr. Dixit during his address. He emphasized the importance of staying focused and using available resources wisely while preparing for the civil services. Ms. Malik added, “Coming from a technical background, it is very much possible to crack UPSC with the right mindset. Your engineering years teach you problem-solving – use that strength in preparation.”
The Silver Jubilee Alumni Meet for the 1999 batch at NIT Jalandhar on December 22, 2024, was indeed a memorable event that fostered a sense of unity and nostalgia. The meet brought together a diverse group of alumni from across the globe, including from countries like the USA, Europe, Dubai, and Singapore, as well as various regions of India. This annual gathering is significant in strengthening the bond between the institution and its alumni, and it serves as an excellent platform for both reminiscing about shared experiences and discussing future opportunities for collaboration.
The alumni meet held at NIT JALANDHAR on December 16, 2023, was a poignant occasion that evoked a strong sense of nostalgia among the attendees. This annual gathering, cherished by both former and current members of the NITJ community, serves a dual purpose. On one hand, it rekindles connections among alumni, allowing them to celebrate shared successes and achievements and also it provides a valuable platform for current students to engage with distinguished alumni, gaining insights across diverse professional fields.

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Mr. Amit Kumar Dixit, an alumnus of Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, who has secured All India Rank 627 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024.
Hailing from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, Amit graduated with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Batch of 2014–2018). His journey to success was greatly supported by the unwavering encouragement of his mother, a homemaker, and the dedicated mentorship of his professors at NIT Jalandhar.
Amit’s passion for education was evident early on, as he began coaching JEE aspirants during his college years. Amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he embarked on his UPSC journey while simultaneously managing a professional job. This was his third attempt, with Physics as his optional subject—a testament to his perseverance, especially after not clearing the prelims in his first two attempts.
Beyond academics, Amit was an active participant in campus life. He displayed his creativity and leadership by joining the Baware theatre club and contributing to the event management of technical festivals like TechNiti, fostering his holistic growth.

Sadaf Malik, a distinguished engineer from NIT Jalandhar, has captured national attention by excelling in the UPSC CSE 2024. Originating from Kapurthala, Punjab, her journey stands as a powerful example of determination and perseverance.
Showing academic brilliance from the beginning, Sadaf pursued her B.Tech in Chemical Engineering at NIT Jalandhar (2016–2020 Batch). She began her professional career as a Data Analyst at ICICI Bank, Gurugram. However, driven by a deep aspiration to serve the nation, she courageously resigned from her job and devoted herself entirely to the demanding preparation for the UPSC examinations.
Her unwavering dedication paid off when she secured an impressive 742nd rank in the UPSC CSE 2024. With a strong focus on self-study and persistent effort, Sadaf’s determined pursuit of her dream has led her to the esteemed Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie for her training.
Sadaf Malik’s inspiring journey of resilience and success continues to be a source of motivation for countless UPSC aspirants across the country.

In a commendable step towards fostering academic talent and supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KISCO India Private Limited (KIPL) on Nov 13, 2024. The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of NIT Jalandhar, and Mr. Rohit Khanna, Managing Director of KIPL, who is also an esteemed alumnus of NIT Jalandhar from the class of 1994.
Manpreet Sharma, an alumnus of NIT Jalandhar’s 2016 Mechanical Engineering batch, has demonstrated Exceptional Academic and Professional Achievements. Hailing from the village of Lopon in the Moga District of Punjab, he comes from a family deeply dedicated to Public Service. His Mother is an Economics Lecturer at the Government Higher Secondary School in Moga, and his Father has dedicated nearly three decades to the field of Technical Education. His sister, Dr. Suman Sharma, is currently pursuing Postdoctoral Research in Horticulture at the University of Florence, USA, after completing her PhD at New Mexico State University, USA.
During his time at NIT Jalandhar, Manpreet ranked as the 4th topper of his batch. He displayed remarkable passion in his final-year project on the topic “Design and Fabrication of a Solar Thermal Storage Device using Phase Change Material,” under the guidance of Dr. Subash Chander. He also gained valuable Industry exposure through his summer internship at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur.
Manpreet began his professional career as an Assistant Manager at Maruti Suzuki India, where he served for three years. Driven by his aspiration to contribute to public administration, he later resigned to prepare for the Civil Services Examination. During this period, he actively engaged in social work through initiatives like ‘Mera Pind 360’ and founded ‘Mera Farmhouse,’ an agritech startup aimed at promoting rural development.
His perseverance paid off when he successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination, achieving an All India Rank of 83 in the reserve list of 2023, which was released on 25th October 2024.

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our esteemed alumnus, Mr. Prince Kumar Singh Batch of 2016-2020), has achieved an extraordinary milestone AIR15 by qualifying for the prestigious UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam. The UPSC IFS exam is known for its rigorous selection process and is one of the most challenging examinations in India. Mr.Prince's success in this exam is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and exceptional intellect. This accomplishment is not only a personal triumph but also a moment of immense pride for all of us at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar . Mr Prince Kumar Singh has always been a beacon of excellence, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to academic and professional pursuits. This latest achievement further cements his/her status as a role model for our current students and fellow alumni.
Ms. Sadaf Choudhary, NITJ Alumnus (B.Tech Chemical Engineering Batch: 2012-2016) has secured AIR 23 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020.
Mr. Jagdeep Chawla, Director of eNest Technologies in Mohali and an alumnus of the 1994 graduating batch of the Institute, along with his team members, visited the Institute. During the visit, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of NIT Jalandhar, and Mr. Jagdeep Chawla engaged in discussions to promote the use of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector. Mr Jagdeep Chawla has just completed M S in Data Science from Northwestern University (USA). Both NITJ and eNest Technologies agreed to collaborate and share expertise and technology. Additionally, eNest Technologies committed to providing industry-related projects in the field of AI to faculty and students of the Institute specially in the field of Textile Technology. As a gesture of support, Mr. Jagdeep Chawla also contributed a financial aid of Rs 3.00 lakh for the development AI based research in ‘sports and healthcare research centre’ of the Institute.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of NIT Jalandhar, and Mr. Rohit Khanna, Managing Director of KIPL. The main objective of this collaboration is to extend vital financial support to academically gifted yet economically challenged students at NIT Jalandhar. KIPL has generously provided financial assistance amounting to Rs 3.2 lacs to these deserving students as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative. This marks the 5th consecutive year of their support, and the institute appreciates the dedication of KIPL to nurture the future leaders. It's worth mentioning that Mr. Rohit Khanna is an alumnus of NIT Jalandhar, having graduated from the institution in the class of 1994.
